SWING DANCE

Embrace the big band era, and enjoy a night of swing dancing with Lynchburg Lindy Hop! A step by step lesson on swing dancing will be held from 7:00pm–8:00pm, with open dancing to follow from 8:00pm–11:30pm. Tickets are $5 in advance, $8 at the door. Those registered in the Swing Dance Workshop, may participate for free!

Lynchburg Parks & Recreation and local host, Jiggy M., are setting the stage for local song writers and musicians to come share their voice. Original music and creative covers are welcome. Performers can play up to two songs. The doors open at 7:00pm, at which time performers can sign up to play. Walk-in’s may participate on a first come, first serve basis. Limited space is available. Sign up in advance by emailing megan.heatwole@lynchburgva.gov.

Veterans Appreciation Luncheon

Join us at the American Legion Post 16, 1301 Greenview Drive, as we salute the men and women who have so proudly served our country. Enjoy the camaraderie, buffet lunch, door prizes, entertainment, and moving remarks from our area Veterans. Free to all Veterans who register by 11/5. Non-veterans meal tickets are $8.00, and are on sale 10/8–11/5. Tickets are available at the Templeton Senior Center and the Miller Center at 301 Grove Street. Be a Santa to a Senior is an annual project sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care that provides Christmas gifts to local seniors who may not otherwise receive gifts this season. Community members are invited to come out anytime throughout the day to assist in wrapping donated gifts. All wrapping supplies provided. Advanced registration is appreciated by 12/2.
