Hop on the Parks and Recreation tacky lights tour bus to enjoy holiday carols, trivia, and a look at Lynchburg’s best decorated homes. The tour lasts about 45 to 55 minutes and starts and ends at the Lynchburg Community Market. While you wait or after your tour, you can enjoy cookies and hot cocoa at the market. Please register by December 7.
Check in near the fountain at the Community Market Plaza. Each group tour is for up to 11 people and takes place on our minibus. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for either tour. Closed beverage containers only–no alcohol or glass! No food on the tour vehicle, please.
Participants are encouraged to visit the Bright Nights display, only 2 blocks away from the Market, before or after their tour! Tours will be run rain or shine.
Complete the following application for a chance to win $50 AND feature your home in the tour. Applications for the tackiest house will open October 1 and close December 1. *Address must be within a 20-minute drive of the Lynchburg Community Market to be considered.
Houses will be scouted the following week. Decorative lights/displays must be active from 5 PM–10 PM between December 2–5 and December 10–13 to be considered. Please note that, due to time constraints, some houses selected as finalists MAY NOT necessarily be able to be featured in the tour, but that DOES NOT disqualify you from the competition or put you at any disadvantage.
