Tacky Lights Tour
Join the Parks and Recreation Tacky Lights Tour Bus to celebrate the holiday season! Enjoy festive carols, trivia, and more while admiring Lynchburg’s most beautifully decorated homes. The tour lasts 45-55 minutes and begins and ends at the Lynchburg Community Market. While you wait or after the tour, you’ll be invited to enjoy cookies and hot cocoa at the market. Please register by 12/7.
Check-in will be located near the fountain in the Community Market Plaza. Group tours can accommodate up to 11 people and take place on our mini bus. Participants of all ages are welcome, but youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the tour.
Please note the following guidelines:
- Only closed beverage containers are allowed; no alcohol or glass.
- No food is permitted on the tour vehicle.
We encourage participants to visit the Bright Nights display, which is only two blocks away from the Market, either before or after their tour!
We’re also hosting a competition for the tackiest house! Complete the application for a chance to win $50.00 and to have your home featured in the tour. Applications will be open starting 10/1 and will close on 12/1.
Your address must be within a 20-minute drive of the Lynchburg Community Market to be considered. Applications are due by December 1. Houses will be scouted the following week. Decorative lights and displays must be active from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 2–5, as well as December 10–13, to be eligible for the competition. Please note that, due to time constraints, some finalists may not be able to participate in the tour; however, this will not disqualify you from the competition.
Tours will be run rain or shine.
