On Friday December 18th from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., the Blackwater Creek Bikeway will be closed from the East Randolph Place Entrance (near the 1.0 Mile Marker) to the four-way trail intersection of Kemper Street Trail and Point of Honor Trail (near the 2.0 Mile Marker) as a contractor will be performing asphalt surface repairs and shoulder grading.
During the day of work the East Randolph Place parking lot will be closed to trail users to allow the contractor access to the work site and as a laydown area for equipment and materials.
Other portions of the Blackwater Creek Bikeway, including the section from the Ed Page Entrance to East Randolph Place, along with Kemper Street Trail and Point of Honor Trail, will remain open for the duration of the maintenance project. Trail users should exercise caution and obey all signage, including any restricted areas designated by flagging or signs.
For additional information, call the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department at (434) 455-5877.
