Fairview Neighborhood Center is one of Lynchburg Parks & Recreation’s most active community centers, offering a wide variety of recreational, educational, and enrichment opportunities for residents of all ages. Built on the former site of Mountain View School, the center has expanded over the years with dedicated ceramics and arts spaces, a Maker Space, and an outdoor archery range. Today, Fairview serves as a vibrant gathering place where youth, adults, and seniors can learn new skills, stay active, and connect with the community.
Fairview offers year-round programs including an after-school program for youth ages 6–17, Summer at the Center, Learn & Play, Senior Recreation Shuffle, ceramics and arts classes, and LAYSI summer camps. Seniors enjoy a popular weekly line dancing program, while youth participate in sports, games, arts, and educational activities after school. The center also partners with Liberty University students on community engagement opportunities and operates a food pantry in collaboration with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Park View Community Mission.
