Located in the heart of Lynchburg, College Hill Neighborhood Center is a vibrant community gathering place where residents of all ages can learn, play, and connect. Established in 1991 after neighborhood residents requested a recreation center of their own, the facility is located on the historic site of a former military college that operated from 1858 until the Civil War. Today, the center offers a welcoming environment with programs and resources that promote recreation, education, and community engagement.
College Hill provides a variety of year-round programs, including an after-school program for youth ages 6–17, Summer at the Center, Learn & Play, teen activities, and senior programs such as weekly brunches, bingo, and monthly Harmony Center gatherings. The center also partners with local organizations to provide a Friday meal program through the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, a community food pantry, Legacy Education Center workforce and skills training, LAYSI programming through the University of Lynchburg, and a community resource and information board.
