Daniel’s Hill Neighborhood Center
Conveniently located off Rivermont Avenue in Lynchburg’s historic Daniel’s Hill neighborhood, Daniel’s Hill Neighborhood Center is just steps from the Point of Honor Museum and the Blackwater Creek Trail. Since opening its permanent facility in 1979, the center has been a cornerstone of the community, providing recreation, educational opportunities, and neighborhood support for residents of all ages. Originally established as a supervised playground, the center has grown into a welcoming gathering place where families, youth, adults, and seniors can stay active, build relationships, and enjoy a variety of year-round programs.
Daniel’s Hill offers an exciting lineup of recreation and enrichment programs, including an after-school program for youth ages 6–17, Summer at the Center, Learn & Play, Preschool Playgroup, and Senior Recreation Shuffle. Weekly activities include Zumba Gold, arts and crafts, board games, pool, educational presentations, day trips, and intergenerational programming that brings youth and seniors together. The center also partners with Hutcherson Early Learning Center, provides a weekly hot meal for children, and works with community organizations to distribute food and hygiene products to local families. Special annual events, including the Daniel’s Hill Reunion, End of School Cookout, and Christmas Store Event, help strengthen neighborhood connections throughout the year.

Parking is limited, but the center’s convenient location and wide variety of recreational opportunities make it a valuable resource for the Daniel’s Hill neighborhood and the surrounding community.
