Lynchburg Parks and Recreation offers a youth basketball league that will help keep your kids active and having fun all winter. Register your child and get them involved in and activity that will teach them sportsmanship, team building and leadership. Registration opens November 3rd.
Our Youth Basketball league is perfect for those who are just learning the sport, as well as those who are looking to further develop their skills. Not to mention, we’ve got some great volunteer coaches working with our teams who love the sport.

Registration
Registration for Youth Basketball begins on 11/3 and 11/5 at Miller Center from 5PM-7PM. If you can’t make these dates, come by 11/7 or 11/14 from 12PM-3PM to make sure your child is good to go for drafts. If you miss registration for all four of these dates, your child may still be accepted if space allows. Late registrants will be assigned to the next available team, and be charged a $5 late fee. The cost to play is $50 / Lynchburg Resident or $65 / Non-Resident.
Remember that all registration must be done in-person for first-time registrants, but those who have played with us before can register online. Also, don’t forget your child’s birth certificate – it is required at the time of registration.

Drafts
Once you’ve registered your child up to play, the next step is showing up at our drafts held at Sandusky Middle School. For an hour, your child will get to take part in small group drills at multiple skills stations supervised and taught by our athletic staff. Whether you have a seasoned player or a new enthusiast, all players will have the chance to get on the floor and in the drills. After drafts have completed, the coaches will get together to officially form their teams. In our league, no one gets cut! See the list below to find out what day your child should be at drafts.

Practices and Games
Teams will begin practices 12/7 through 12/18, with games beginning on 1/2/2016. Game locations will depend on the age and gender of your team.
