Carter first became involved with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation when she signed up for a cake decorating class. After learning about other classes offered, She then went on to sign up for the stained glass classes that the city offered, and was hooked! After several years in class, Carter’s stained glass instructor left parks and recreation, and Carter was asked to step in to fill his shoes as the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation stained glass instructor. She was both happy and scared, and while she knew there was a lot to learn, she stepped up to the challenge, and has loved teaching the class ever since! Her favorite part of teaching stained glass is meeting new people and friends, helping them become ‘addicts’ and watching participants skills improve with bigger and better pieces!
