Become an instructor with Lynchburg Parks & Rec!
“To teach is to learn twice.”
– Joseph Joubert
The City of Lynchburg Department of Parks and Recreation offers an exciting range of services and activities for both residents and visitors. Our 17 beautifully maintained parks provide the perfect setting for everything from picnics and fishing to canoeing, kayaking, and playful afternoons with the kids. With over 40 miles of scenic trails, there’s plenty of room to walk, hike, run, or mountain bike through the heart of Lynchburg.
Our nine recreation centers are hubs of activity, hosting group programs, celebrations, community meetings, and outdoor fun. Plus, Parks and Recreation not only supports events for outside organizations, but also brings the community together with our special events.
