The Point of Honor trail section is a 1.5 mile spur off of the Bikeway, traveling past the historic Point of Honor home before connecting to the entrance of RiverWalk, and the eastern end of the Bikeway. Point of Honor is a historic home, situated on a point of land in the Daniel’s Hill neighborhood overlooking the James River. It is open to the public, and offers seasonal living history demonstrations including cooking, children’s games, and period music.  RiverWalk travels out of the BWCNA and into downtown Lynchburg and onto Percival’s Island, where visitors are surrounded by the sights and sounds of the James River.

The trail passes the historic sites of Hollins Mill, which is now a grassy parkland, via a low-water ford, which may be closed during periods of high water. and the historic home known as Point of Honor. The trail is considered a moderately easy walk and many families can be found there on weekday afternoons and on the weekends.

The Point of Honor Trail section also provides access to the Creekside Trail and is located within the confines of the beautiful Blackwater Creek Natural Area.
