How long have you worked with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation?:
What do you love most about working for Lynchburg Parks and Recreation?:
I love being a part of programs and projects that provide new or expanded experiences for participants. Participants often venture outside their comfort zone to experience a challenge, which leads to a sense of accomplishment, while having a great time along the way. I love to be a part of such experiences and to be there to celebrate when participants are able to say “I did that!”
Why is Heritage Park your favorite park?:
The Girl Scout Troop I used to lead adopted the trails at Heritage Park and we spent quality time together there volunteering. My son established new signs along the Heritage trails for his Eagle Scout project. Walking the trails reminds me of his hard work and accomplishment.
What is your favorite Lynchburg Parks and Recreation memory?:
The Miller Center Open House and Concert in January, 2015 was an awesome event! The building was closed for two years while being renovated. The community really supported our department by coming out to celebrate our newly renovated facility during the Open House and Concert. The Friends of Lynchburg Parks and Recreation did a great job, along with other volunteers. Our Parks and Recreation staff put forth a great team effort and enjoyed celebrating with the community.
