Stacy Sumpman started dancing as a young child in Lynchburg at the Floyd Ward School of Dance and then later at Forest Dance Academy. After graduating from William and Mary, she moved to NYC to pursue a career in professional dance.

She worked with many different dance companies in various modern dance styles. She was in the Understudy Group for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and later an instructor. She was in Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company, Anita Cheng Dancers, and performed with Bryan Hayes, Mary Seidman and others. Since returning to Lynchburg, Stacy has taught dance and choreographed at the Dance Theater of Lynchburg and currently for Lynchburg Parks and Rec. Stacy loves to share her knowledge and love of dance to anyone who wants to learn.
