Join us for an engaging tour of the facility to learn about the wastewater treatment process, visit the certified testing laboratory, view our 4 million gallon holding tank, learn about how you can help keep our water clean at home, and meet employees who work every day to be stewards of the James! Show your care for the environment by installing some public art! We will be painting a design on a storm drain near Ivy Creek Park to remind people “Only rain down the drain, only rain to the James.” We will meet at the Lynchburg Water Resources tent at 2:00 pm and walk to the storm drain. No painting experience necessary. Participants under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Register by 4/24. Presented by Lynchburg Water Resources.
Wrap up the Week of Green by celebrating the sun! Join us at the Ivy Creek Park Cabin for fun, FREE food, education, games, and more! Meet Soley, the Earth Right Mid-Atlantic mascot, and learn about Solar Energy through our interactive exhibit and hands-on activities. Take a hike to learn about invasive flora in the area, visit the Nature Zone on the Go table with some of our favorite native animals, or help our Lynchburg Water Resources decorate a storm drain for their ArtStorm initiative. Advanced registration is appreciated, but not required. Those who do register will be entered in a solar themed raffle prize.
