Tap dance is a great outlet for creativity while enhancing coordination and making new friends! Children will learn basic steps and combinations using a mix of traditional and contemporary choreography in a 6 week class. Register by 1/24.
Beginner Tap PM | Jan 27–Mar 3 | Thu | 6:00pm–7:00pm | Ages 12+
Tap dance is a fun and healthy activity to exercise your body and mind. Regular tap dance exercise increases cardiovascular conditioning, coordination, and builds strength in the legs and feet, while increasing flexibility in the hips, knees, and ankles. Participants will learn basic steps and combinations using a mix of traditional and contemporary choreography in a 6 week class. Register by 1/24.
Continuing Tap | Tue | 11:00am–12:00pm | Ages 50+
Over six sessions, experienced tappers will build on the foundational knowledge and combinations learned in beginner tap classes. Dancers will have intermediate level tap instruction while experiencing the health benefits of regular tap dance exercise such as strengthening the legs and feet, cardiovascular conditioning, mind/body coordination, and flexibility. Combinations will be taught using a mix of traditional, contemporary, and Zumba choreography. Register by 3 days in advance.
Safety is the top priority at Lynchburg Parks and Recreation as we continue to serve our community members with quality programs. We have implemented the following safety protocols for all of our in-person recreation programs: Assumption of Risk forms, daily health screening questionnaire, social distanced classroom set-up, face mask requirements, hand sanitation stations on site, and regular cleaning of the facilities.
