ArtStorm Public Art Tour  |  October 7

Explore our stormwater infrastructure and connect to the environment…through art! Join us on a tour of Lynchburg Water Resources ArtStorm public art program. The ArtStorm project works to bring public awareness to storm drains through public art. In this tour, you will learn about our stormwater infrastructure, enjoy public art, and explore ways in which you can contribute to caring for our natural and built water systems. Youth 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register by 10/4.

Rain Barrel Workshop   |  October 14

Collecting rainwater from your roof to use on your garden or lawn helps the environment and saves you money on your water bill! In this workshop, you’ll get hands on experience building a rain barrel and learn how to install and maintain it. Water barrels can be purchased at the workshop for $50 each, payable the day of the class (cash/check). Register by 10/11.

College Hill Water Treatment Plant Tour   |  October 21

October 21st is Imagine a Day Without Water! What would your day look like? No morning coffee, breakfast, showers, and many other things would be missing from your day (including life!) Join us for a tour of our College Hill Water Treatment Plant to learn about the history of water in Lynchburg and all the work it takes to keep clean water flowing throughout Lynchburg…we can’t imagine life without it! Meet at the College Hill Water Treatment Plant. Youth 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register by 10/18.

Water Resource Recovery Facility Tour   |  October 28

Ever wonder where your water goes once you flush it down the toilet or wash it down the sink? It travels through the sewer system to the Lynchburg Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility! Join us for an engaging tour of the facility to learn about the wastewater treatment process, visit the certified testing laboratory, view our new million gallon holding tank, learn about how you can help keep our water clean at home, and meet employees who work every day to be stewards of the James! Meet at the Water Resource Recovery Facility, 2301 Concord Turnpike, Lynchburg, VA. Youth 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register by 10/25.
