About the Instructor

Carolyn Prince is a Lynchburg, VA artist who has been painting on and off since she was a student at Perrymont Elementary School.  “I have always enjoyed just doodling,” she says. Her education began with a few courses in art at E.C.Glass High School and at Wilmington College in Ohio. She has continued her education through taking numerous local art classes offered by the Academy, Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, and Lynchburg Art Club.

Carolyn began volunteering to teach art at Sandusky Elementary while her children were in school. She feels lucky to have been a part of this program, where she taught for 8 years as a volunteer.

Her first medium was in watercolor and in acrylics and she drew pastel portraits for several years. Her work now focuses mainly in oils. When she is not teaching for Parks & Rec she teaches “paint and sip” classes for non-profit groups on a volunteer basis.
