DESCRIPTION:Chance Dance is an innovative class that uses Merce Cunningham’s chance-based approach to choreography. Using movements taught by the instructor and created by the dancers\, cancer methods such as flipping coins and rolling dice are used to determine the combination of movements that will be used to construct a dance by the end of the session. This class is a great way for dancers to explore and expand their creative process. No prior dance experience is necessary. Dancers will dance barefoot. SUMMARY:WOG Fish Art Printing (Gyotaku)
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Miller Center for a hands-on experience of Gyotaku (Gee-o-ta-ku) the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. Ink would be applied to one side of a freshly caught fish\, then covered with rice paper and rubbed to create an exact image of the fish. \nInstead of real fish we use rubber replicas along with tempera paint. This is a great way to teach about basic fish anatomy\, what living things need to live and grow and best of all\, a chance to get messy! Register by 4/24.
