Each year International Peace Day is observed around the world on September 21st. This year Lynchburg Parks & Rec is hosting a variety of peaceful activities in Riverfront Park to honor this worldwide celebration.

This free, family-friendly event will be held at Riverfront Park, 1100 Jefferson St., from 4:30 pm–7:30 pm, and will feature a one-hour yoga and meditation class by Paul Webb, and a one-hour tai chi class by Scott Larson, both appropriate for all levels. Enjoy a labyrinth on the lawn provided by Unity in the Seven Hills. Participants are also encouraged to stick around for a peaceful sound immersion by Greg Burns of Metta Vibrations. Music provided by Daniel Kepel. *Amazement Square and Academy in Motion from the Academy Center of the Arts will provide children’s activities such as kindness rocks, pinwheels for peace, storytime, and more. Registration is not required.
