A healthy, active lifestyle is something we all strive towards, and taking classes at Lynchburg Parks and Recreation is a great way to add a new activity or interest into the mix. At Parks and Recreation, we offer classes for all ages and abilities, at many different locations. Our goal is to make it easier for you to start reaching a new level of fitness that fits your schedule and meets your personal goals.

After-School Programs at Lynchburg Parks and Recreation’s neighborhood centers provide a safe, happy place for your child to hang out after school and get that pesky homework done at a location convenient for your family. Healthy snacks, active, outdoor time, crafts activities, and tutoring are part of the daily activities at each center. 

Therapeutic Recreation is a process that adapts programs for those with special needs. These fun and adaptive programs allow participants to fully engage in fun, recreational activities with minimal assistance. Programs are intended to foster a sense of accomplishment, while improving mental and cognitive abilities in a safe and nurturing environment. 

In addition to our various classes, programs, and activities offered, Lynchburg Parks and Recreation has also added new excursions to our offerings. Join us for a day-long hike, a shopping trip, or a brewery tour. If you’re looking to get away for the day, Lynchburg Parks and Recreation can help!
