FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: PORTION OF RIVERWALK CLOSED FOR REPAIRS
Beginning Tuesday May 31, 2016 and continuing through Friday June 3, 2016 that portion of RiverWalk (a section of the James River Heritage Trail) located on Percival’s Island will be closed to all traffic due to repairs and repaving of the trail surface.
Pedestrians and bike riders will not be able to access Percival’s Island from neither Lynchburg nor Amherst while construction is taking place.
During the project, the public is asked to watch for construction vehicles, obey signage and use caution while in the vicinity of the construction area.
